I loved "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and the "What to Expect" books. But now i need a good one for my 2 yr old! Ever since she turned 2 her behavior is nutty! Sometimes i am on eggshells cuz i don't know what will set her off next. She throws tantrums then says she hurt herself from kicking around and i try to console her and she throws another fit and doesn't want me to touch her...i am confused as to what techniques to use. I will be consistent whatever it may be but i just want some tactics to try out and see what works best for her. Ugh...i have alot of patience but this stuff is breaking me down!
I did notice a second molar coming through...so i don't know if that may be a part of it.
Re: I need a helpful Toddler book!
A demon has posessed my child, that's the only conclusion I have come up with. I read 123 Magic and it has been working. Although I do still have a problem in the more public settings as far as how to discipline her. We're getting there though.
I have friends that tell me the 3's are worse - they better be wrong!
I liked Dr. Sears' Discipline Book b/c it outlines what you can expect from children at their different developmental stages.
I also really enjoyed Dr. Lawrence Cohen (Kohen?)'s book Playful Parenting. (It is geared for 3+ but I can use some of the techniques now). Lastly, I learned a lot from Alfie Kohn's (sp?) research based book, Unconditional Parenting.
