I dropped DD off, and DH picked her up. Of course he did not get any good information for me....like what she did, what she liked didn't like...etc.
He said that she was all red and upset when he go there, and the teacher had her all swaddled and rocking her. She hates being cuddled, and was upset. Then when DH got her home, she sucked down 8 oz of milk... which makes me think she didn't get enough during the day today. She still dislikes drinking out of a sippy, so I don't know how much she actually got at daycare today.
Sigh... I guess I will have to wait until monday to find out more info (she is part time).
Re: Started new Daycare today
Hang in there. The transition can take a bit, especially since you LO is a bit "older". It will take some time DCP to learn what works for your child in their environment and what doesn't.
Does your DCP do a daily sheet to talk about what LO did? Mine does one and it's really helpful for things like eating -- I know exactly what and relatively how much LO ate on a given day.
Good luck with your continued transition.
I'd definitely ask DCP to add bottles on there when you drop her off on Monday. My DCP documents everything that DS eats/drinks (even water).
I hear you on the "class activities". Mine pretty much only documents that type of stuff, but will add some more personal notes if there was something out of the ordinary.
I think it's tough for everyone (parents included) to get in the swing of how things should go on a given day. I ran into a similar thing when we transitioned from the infant room to the toddler room. I didn't quite know how to interact with the new teacher to get the info that I wanted on a given day. You'll all get the hang of it.
Yeah, and the teacher that was watching her when DH picked her up was not her class teacher, because her class teacher leaves at 4:30. This was the Nursery class teacher I believe, so who knows. We are coming from a home DCP, where she was very thorough. She would text me updates and pictures every day. We switched because she was too far away and it is pretty inconvenient. But other than that I loved her....
I can see how it would be a pretty tough adjustment after being used to that. I hope you end up loving your new DCP as much as the old one.
