  She may wean herself, as pregnancy hormones make your milk "taste" different and will decrease some.  I don't think it's necessary to wean, but a lot of moms do. I don't have any personal experience though, just what I heard from my friend.

  My DD has basically weaned herself due to the change in taste/consistency of my milk and my drop in supply.  There's still some there, and she will nurse for comfort, but she's slowly lost interest through my pregnancy to this point. 

  I kept nursing her morning, afternoon, and bedtime until she lost interest in that feeding and just let her taper off on her own.

  ETA:  There's nothing wrong with you wanting to wean her now, or wanting to continue breastfeeding through your pregnancy.  Whatever decision works best for you is what I suggest.

  I'm 35 weeks pregnant and still BFing my almost 17 month old!  You can totally wean or continue BFing.  Completely up to you.

  If you choose to continue to BF while pregnant read Adventures in Tantum Nursing.  Even if you want to wean before #2 arrives the book covers BFing while pregnant extensively.

  Thanks, ladies! I think I'll see how it goes. I would much rather have her lose interest than me wean her, so I'll give that a shot.
