SNS anyone?

Anyone need to use a supplemental nursing system to help your baby eat correctly? more?

My little man is not sucking right. He does only short fast sucks instead of long deep ones. As a result of doing this for 10 days, he is losing weight and my supply is LOW.  

Went to the LC today and we are doing this SNS thing (supplemental nursing system). I have only done it once at home, but little man SUCKED down the formula in there.  

 

Anyone else using something similar? I hope it works or this baby may be FF soon!

    I can't offer much advice because I have only tried it once, but we're in the same position you are. It was difficult for me to control everything - the head, back, support the boob, make sure the tube is in right, make sure the bottle isnt squishing against DD, make sure the tube isn't being pinched, etc.

    I think it will get easier the more I get used to it.  Good luck to you,

    I used one and I have to say that it really helped!  I don't know if it's standard practice or not, but I used some of that papery tape stuff to tape it to myself and it helped keep the tube in position so I could focus on other things.

    I use the paper tape, I am just wondering if it is going to help LO with his sucking issues in the long term? or if it is a battle I will never win?
