We have a wedding to go to in March. I'm trying to plan ahead and check prices etc so that we can get a good deal. When I'm trying to book the trip, the site(s) ask for LO's name and date of birth. Obviously, I don't have it yet since he's not due until December. Is it necessary to have him on the travel itiniery when we plan on holding him in our lap instead of getting him a seat? LO will be about 3 months old and we'll be traveling to Mexico.
Re: has anyone booked a trip before LO was born?
Since it's international you will have to pay something, even as a lap child. It varies by airline, often 10% of the standard fare, so I would definitely check when you book because you don't want to have to pay 10% of a last minute fare. Unless it's cheaper for you to book online I would call and do it all on the phone so they can handle unborn baby ticket, it may be that they just put in baby last name and then have you change it upon birth.
