NT Scan (PIPs) and FB-Announced!

Exciting day!!! I am on Cloud 9 right now and have not gotten a single work-related task accomplished today, lol! So here's the scoop, because I'm about to bust...

NT Scan was amazing. I was bummed that DH couldn't be there (he's out of the state for training), but the tech printed off 6 clear beautiful pictures for him. I drank a huge glass of OJ en route to the office, hoping to stir up baby, but it took the u/s tech FOREVER to get baby to move! LO was kicked back with feet up and an arm behind its head (typical DH position, so he's proud already), and it took the tech a LOT of poking and pushing at my belly to get LO to wake up and move around so that she could get a good NT measurement. So funny to me! Finally LO fluttered around, kicking its arms and legs, and she was able to get a good read. Everything is measuring perfect! Baby even "waved" at us, and she got a great picture of it!

I also finally got to hear the heartbeat! Pumping away at a rapid 167 bpm! I teared up pretty good to that sound, it was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard!

Also, I had my physical and pap, which I wasn't expecting, but I'm glad we went ahead and got that behind us! It was my first-ever physical by a male-doc, but to my surprise it really wasn't any more awkward than they are with females. The most nerve-racking moment of the day has to go to being told by the nurse that I had gained TWELVE POUNDS this trimester though. Thank God I protested that that couldn't possibly be accurate, I had just weighed myself this morning, and the doctor brought me back and reweighed me, and it turns out I was right and she was 6 pounds off. I've only gained 6 pounds, which I still grunted at but the doc was content with at 12 weeks pregnant.

AND... we announced on facebook. My post read "(DH's name)'s going to be a daddy and I'm pretty sure it's mine!! Excited to be expecting our little one sometime around May 14!". Feels great to have it out there!! Yay!!

Yay super cute. I'm so happy someone else is in the same weight gain boat as me. I gained 11lbs first trimester. I've heard that some women don't gain at all in the first and gain it at the end and others gain a lot in the beginning and balance out in the end. So here's to hoping we don't gain even more in the end!
