4. SAHM. We decided I would stay home with our kids. I am a CPA (forensic accountant) by trade.

6. The cats could've cared less. The dogs were very excited.
7. The cats definitely have. The dogs are definitely feeling a little neglected. I know they're bored because we don't go to the dog park everyday like we used to.
8. I would've arranged for someone to take them to the park more often. But we didn't/don't have the budget for that. ?

How did the pets handle dc coming home? Actually much better than we expected. He sniffed her, licked her face, and that was about it. Now he is pretty much ignoring her - except when she has a meltdown and then he leaves the room! LOL

How did the pets handle dc coming home? My dog could care less and my cat likes to sniff her
Did everyone adjust well? Took my DH awhile to adjust to things not being about him and lack of free time. I had a hard time accepting this and didn't let him make excuses. You had 9 months (ok 7 months plus one month of her being in the NICU!) to adjust to the idea, dont feel sorry for you!
Is there anything you'd do differently with the pets if you knew what you know now? Nope, not at all!

Did everyone adjust well? Heck no! We are still adjusting.
Is there anything you'd do differently with the pets if you knew what you know now? Well, no. We love them, but it is hard to deal with travel etc. with them. We are learning to use the kennel more for our sanity, and they are ok as long as they are together...

How did the pets handle dc coming home? She didn't mind the baby but wouldn't have anything to do with me for almost a month. She was mistreated and shot previously and has trust issues...poor thing thought I'd abandoned her even though my mom stayed at our house to take care of her.
Did everyone adjust well? I think so. I'm the one that has had to adjust the most, I think. DD is a little on the high needs side and hates all of the things I thought she'd like or we'd be able to do (baby-wearing, breastfeeding, cloth diapering, schedules, dairy for me, etc.). I also miss going into the office (though we don't want to leave DD with anyone except my mom). Going in for a few hours once a week would be good for me, I think.
Is there anything you'd do differently with the pets if you knew what you know now? I don't think we could have done anything differently except let her see us leave with bags. We went to a doctors appointment (sans bags) and just didn't come home. Hopefully next time will be different.

How did the pets handle dc coming home? After the initial meet and greet my older dog peed all over our bed and my younger dog pooped on it (all in the same night). Since then they have been great! I love that when I feed her in the middle of the night in our bed, my older dog comes and puts her head on my lap and just watches Gianna. They also come get me if she starts to cry in another part of the house. So cute!
Did everyone adjust well? With the dogs - yup! With me...I miss large chunks of sleep and I actually miss being at work.

How did the pets handle dc coming home? OK. She used to live with my brother and he had 2 kids at the time so she was broken in already.

Is there anything you'd do differently with the pets if you knew what you know now? Truthfully? Send her to live with DH's parents. It's been hard to handle a dog and an infant when I'm home alone all day.

-- we would have waited to get a dog AFTER we had kids, having a dog that wasn't even 2 years old and a newborn is very hard. That and he's a shelti/corgi/terrier and needs lots and lots of exercise... we need more than 1/8 acre un fenced like we have now... such a pain... but so worth it.

Is there anything you'd do differently with the pets if you knew what you know now? I had to put my sweet Siamese down 5 wks prior to Emerson being born. I got Cali when I got my first apartment in college. She was 16 yrs old....I think Cali would have had problems with Emerson. I guess that worked itself out. : (

Did everyone adjust well? For the most part, except Mom is VERY tired these days!

We had to put Tessie in the kennel for a while after the delivery b/c I ended up having to stay in a hospital out of town for five days. Wish we would have been prepared for that - our poor puppy was a little traumatized!

How did the pets handle dc coming home? My oldest cat hovers and is curious about what is going on. My middle cat hasn't noticed that there's a baby here yet. My youngest cat is jealous as all hell and is needier than I thought he could ever get!!

Is there anything you'd do differently with the pets if you knew what you know now? Eh... I read about some stuff I could have done and in a perfect world I'll do it next time, but we'll see how that works out. He adjusted eventually...moving was harder on him. Poor guy has been through a lot.

My dog loves Maddie. She licks her and gets very concerned when she cries. She has adjusted well to not being my baby anymore. The cat doesn't want anything to do with her. She will sniff her and then run away.
