My boys were born on 10/11/11 in a scheduled c-section (at 37w5d). J was actually baby B, but he was born first since he was trying to go higher into my ribs. J was 6 lbs 3 oz and L was 5 lbs 3 oz. Both are doing great and we all went home 4 days later. DD is adjusting, but she loves being a big sister. I am recovering and adjusting, and doing good.
My mother has been helping me out and has basically staying with us since I went to the hospital. She's going home this week
and I need to figure out how to feed both boys at the same time. Both are pretty gassy, and it takes about 40 minutes to feed and settle each boy. It's going to be impossible to feed them one after another (well I guess not impossible, but it doesn't make sense) and I was looking for suggestions on how to feed 2 at the same time. I won't do this for all the feedings, just the one where both boys tend to be overly fussy.
I didn't have any luck with a boppy pillow, and was wondering if a bouncy seat would be better. Anyone have any suggestions? How did you feed your multiples?
Re: how to feed 2 at the same time
I did bouncies on the floor.
I sat in between them, facing the opposite direction and fed them. It does hurt your back, but I got a gamer chair and all was well!
Good luck and you'll get the hang of it quickly!

I propped bottles from pretty early on. When they were little, I laid a blanket over the boppy to create a nest, laid them on it a little one one side and propped the bottle with another blanket. Now that they're older, I use the boppy without the blanket covering. I know some Moms prop one and hold another, but I found it easier to prop all of them. That way I could bounce between them adjusting bottles as needed. When there are enough hands, everyone gets held while eating.
The Fisher Price Rock ' Sleep bassinets work well too. The heads are the perfect incline.

We used the Fisher Price Rock N Play sleeper. I could sit on the couch and feed each a bottle at the same time. I think being propped up like that helped with spitting up, too.
I put my feet on the ottoman and held one on my lap (laying with feet to my stomach and head at my knees) and had the other in a boppy next to me on the couch. Like PP, I'd put a blanket over the hole to keep the baby from falling in it. You could also just use a pillow.
It sounds like the gas is just as much of an issue for you? What kind of bottles are you using? Maybe consider slowing the nipple flow down or going to a vented bottle to reduce the air/gas?
Good luck.
My only advice is mylanta. My son and my daughter both had reflux when they were born (BAD) I mean you had to not move them for at least 1/2 an hour after they would eat. My pediatrician suggested a dropper of mylanta and it works.
At that age, mine weren't "sturdy" enough to feed at same time. I had them on a 1/2 hr diff for feeding once DH went back to work. If we had visitors, then I'd extend baby 1 a bit so they would feed at same time.
At about 8 wks, I started propping them on a king pillow or sham (or two boppys if avail) in front of me (so they face me) and I'd feed at same time (I'd sit indian style). This started saving a ton of time!
