Thanks for clicking ladies! Nora was my first choice from the beginning, but Morgan was the name DH and I agreed on. Last night he told me I can just pick, but it's so much pressure to do it on my own, LOL!
Then, in a moment we were talking about her, I called her "Mo" for Morgan and immediately thought "ew, I'm not sure I want that to stick..."
My supervisor had a baby a year ago and they were deciding on names. Nora was her #1 choice but then a friend of hers said someone may call her Nora the Whore-A. I was laughing but she said that is why she didn't go with then name. However, I love the name...just something to think about
1. That's a stretch.
2. You shouldn't let possibly stupid teasy nicknames dictate your decision. Kids will find creative ways to make fun if they want to. No name is totally safe.
Nora was one of my top choices until I put it with our last name and realized our baby would share a name with a famous singer. I was pretty bummed about that!!
Nore is our top pick if this baby is a girl, I love it! It was actually my MIL's favorite girl name, but she only had boys so she didn't get to use it. I was shocked when she started throwing out name suggestions that I actually LOVED her favorite name
Thank you, everyone for your help! I really appreciate the suggestions. I might go back and forth on this the next few months. It doesn't help that we don't have a particular middle name in mind either (with DD we had a meaningful name for her middle name).
I chose Morgan, but I can't tell you why. (The Baby Names Board will hands down pick Nora. Have you posted over there?)
I haven't posted over there, and it's intersting you say they will pick Nora hands down... why do you think that?
Morgan will fall in the "used to be a traditional boy name turned girl name" category. Even though I find it to be solidly in the girls camp now. They aren't big fans of of that category or unisex names (Quinn, Taylor etc.)

Also- DD #1's name is Claire
Man. That's a tough one. I like them both. I went with Morgan, but I couldn't really tell you expressly why.

I LOVE Nora! It was on my list but DH nixed it b/c his cousin (who is not his favorite) named their daughter Nora.
Great name
