  • I haven't been diagnosed with this, but my legs drive me crazy at night while in bed!!!  I feel the URGE to move, move, move, and I can't stop!  It's awful!  The only thing that seems to help until I fall asleep is to put a pillow between my legs.  I wonder what causes this...

  • I have it too.  The only thing that works for me is to take a warm bath or put a lot of heavy blankets on them for weight and for heat.  It drives me INSANE!!!!!

  • I've had it since I was 14 but since I've been pregnant its gotten worse.I know exactly how you feel. All you wanna do is sleep and you can't because your legs won't stop.Mine is like twitching sensations and it feels like someone is running their fingers up and down the insides of my legs.It doesn't hurt but its VERRRRRYYYY annoying.

  • I have it so badly at night. This is the second night that I couldn't sleep well because of it! Ughhhhh....hopefully it will go away soon?

  • YES YES YES! Ugh! Its so annoying! Some nights I also want to jump out of bed and just start dancing around the room to make it go away. My poor hubby has been kicked a few times.  I have been told by my OB that it could be a sign of having low calcium levels and that supplementing that may help.  I did take calcium supplements and it seemed to work but now they are just too hard to swallow as they are huge.  But Im pretty sure you can get the chewable kind too, now its just a matter of remembering to take them everyday...

  • I've always had it but it's been unbearable in pregnancy. I get it both in my arms and legs, it's AWFUL!. So I went to Dr. Google, and found out that the Benadryl that I take to help me fall asleep will make it worse so I had to stop that. Also, caffeine. I cut out 100% of my caffeine intake a couple weeks ago and it's helped a lot!

This is simliar to how mine feels.  It sucks!  I find the more tired I am the worse it is.  The only relief I have found is sleep.  Not ideal when it is happening at 7pm at a friend's house.

  • I never realized this could be a symptom of pregnancy.  Luckily, I haven't had much trouble with it but I did have one episode during which I thought I was going crazy.  We were at the movies and my legs just felt so weird.  I couldn't get them comfortable and I thought bouncing them might help - it didn't.  I tried standing at the side of the theater and that didn't help either.  It was such a strange sensation.  Now, I guess I know what it was!

  • Stress and not drinking enough water in the day will make RLS worse.

  • Ohhhh yeah. Got this big time!!! Usually when I lay down to go to sleep. UGH!!!! No fun. My midwife says it happens to a lot of people, but I'd never even heard of it as a pregnancy symptom before!

  • I have never had RLS before I was pregnant. I am 8 weeks pregnant and have had RLS every single night as well!!! It is the WORST symptom in the world. I would rather be throwing up and sick-at least you can get some sleep! I have tried everything. The only thing that seems to help me is getting out of bed and doing some laps around the house, some kind of movement. It is hard to do when you are half asleep but I notice that once I get back into bed I can fall back asleep for usually a few hours before it starts up again. Another thing that helps me is a little bit of Aspercream. I get the RLS in my knees, so I rub a little bit of that on my knees and it helps a little. Another thing you could try in Unisom. It helps you sleep and it is totally safe to take during pregnancy. I have slept once or twice through the whole night by taking that. Being 8 weeks pregnant I can only hope and pray that it won't be like this my whole pregnancy. : (. Good luck to you!
