Nursing Pads

For the past 3 nights I have soaked through the disposable pads and leaked all over my bra & shirt. I've tried the Medela and Lansinoh brands.  I feed right before I go to sleep and again in the middle of the night yet I wake up and Im soaked. Anyone have a similar issue and find something that worked??

Re: Nursing Pads

  • YES! I use the same brand...haven't tried anything else though. I was at Universal Studios when I had my first leak through expereince :( Luckily, it was at night!

Do you find that they don't stick well to your bra either? Mine always get jumbled up

  • I have used both brands as well and still use the Lasinoh ones. I noticed this happened a few times when I was sleeping if my boobs moved away from where I had placed the pads. The tape on them kinda sucks so maybe check and make sure that's not it? Also your supply is probably still trying to regulate itself. Now I rarely leak at all because they are so attuned to when baby is going to eat!

  • You both are right, they don't stick to my bra very well and I often have to fix them because they get all smashed up in my bra. I have big boobs too ( 34G ) so I'm sure that doesn't help either. I wear a bra AND a sports bra to bed to hold them in more. Ugh such a pain!

  • Try the Johnson & Johnson brand, they're much thicker and curve more to the contour of the breast. I had the same problem until I discovered them!

  • I've had the same problems. At night I have been putting wash cloths inside my bra. Its starting to regulate now.

  • Do NOT use the NUK brand, they are horrible... they have no tape and the fly our of my shirt at the GREATEST times of day, like if im at hubby's parents house or out in public and i have to rush to the bathroom to put it back in so i dont wet my shirt :(

I had a coupon for NUK brand and made the mistake of buying them...they ARE awful.

To the OP: Have you tried Lily pads?  They are a bit pricey but worth it when you are leaking that much...I LOVED mine until I lost one and can no longer use them anymore...haha.  I will be buying another pair for the next time around though.

  • For disposable pads, I like the Ameda brand. I've worn them for 10 hours with no problems, plus they don't show through your shirt if you wear them out.

At night I like to wear reusable pads. I have some from BRU that are organic- a tan color- and they're really soft. I like that they are larger in size and when I first put them in, they feel cool on my poor, sore nipples. Embarrassed
