We use saline drops and the nosfreida which seems like a gentler and safer alternative. I would wait to use the neti pot when LO is older and can actually blow their nose. I think using it now, you risk the baby inhaling at the wrong time and also getting saltwater in the ears and causing a bigger problem besides just a screaming fit.
If you read the directions on the box, it tells you not to use it for such a young child. I'm sure she did scream since it felt like you were drowning her.
ETA: I kind of feel like this is in response to someone posting that you were livening up the board. I don't want to give you a way to say "Oh yeah, I was totally kidding" if this is true, but I'm calling MUD (and lame MUD at that). I honestly can't believe someone would be stupid enough to neti their baby.

Having used it myself in the past, I would never suggest you do it on a baby. There are very specific instructions on how to drain the water properly and it can really burn and be uncomfortable if its done wrong. =( Plus, part of the process is "drying" after the draining which involved holding head upside down which I don't think is probably what you want to do with your LO either .

I'd be worried about my baby aspirating saltwater.
So... no.

A neti for a baby. That's new.
Absolutely not.

Yow, Gbaby. Totally judging you. Sounds like you didn't really do this, you're just looking for drama.
MUD, I call it.
Sadly, her most recent rant to Kacelle kind of proves that she DID do it.
holy cow, the neti hurts half the time when I do it, I'm certainly not going to try it on my infant.
did you read the box? pretty sure there's an age range for using the neti pot....
