My non-medicine constipation cure

Hey Ladies,

I know that I have still been suffering from constipation but the last two morning I have drank chai tea latte's and within the hour I have relief.  I just thought I would pass along for those who do not want to take medication.  I use the Keurig cups and I don't have a Keurig and just mix the K-Cup with a cup of hot water.  I know you can buy the K cups at Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond and Lowes.  Hope this helps some of you ladies!  In case you don't know this is what they look like

  • is it caffeinated? Because I have 2 different kinds of chai tea alone (not latte) but some teas, are caffeinated and I was curious if your method is as well...definitely interested!

  • The one I drink does not say anywhere on the box but I assume it has caffeine in it. This is the only caffeine I drink though so I am not concerned since I am only drinking one a day

  • I added one scoop of caffeinated coffee back into the mix for my morning coffee, for just this reason.  The decaf just doesn't get things moving the same way caffeinated coffee does.  With only one scoop (out of the three I use to make 2 cups of coffee) it ends up being the equivalent of less than one cup of caffeinated coffee, so well below recommended amount, but it helps a lot!

  • I've heard eating a lot of fruits and veggies will help and make sure you are getting 8 8oz glasses of water each day.
  • This is another reason I refuse to give up caffiene when I'm pregnant. :)

I drink over 120 ounces a day water was not helping me. Unfortunately fruit and veggies do not sound good at all

I'm the same way.  I track it, and I literally get over 50 grams of fiber a day and still have problems.

  • I quit coffee for like two days in the very beginning and then was over it due to the constipation. My morning coffee saved me through that battle. And has helped with the 2nd trimester headaches. I think caffeine intake is a " to each his own" but it's a sure fire ( and safe) way to get things moving.

  • I gave up caffeine, that's why I asked. :) I don't drink coffee so I was getting my caffeine from soda. A sip of soda would send me to the bathroom 50 times to pee so I stopped drinking it, plus my doc said im a risk for GD so i don't want that extra sugar. Wouldn't it be weird if coffee became a craving? lol

  • Kiwis worked wonders for me. So that's always worth a try too.
