Baby tummy troubles

Baby is almost 3 weeks old this week. He's been a great BF'er right from the beginning. I've noticed him spitting up more the past couple of days. My first baby had AWFUL reflux. She was on numerous meds for treatments. I'm familiar with the reflux projectile vomit, but this doesn't seem to be the same. Fingers crossed the spitting up doesn't get worse.

Today was a bad day... he wouldn't let me put him down when asleep.  While holding him, he would kind of grunt/moan and his little body would scrunch up. Obviously, he wasn't feeling well. Diapers have been normal all along.

I'm going to start paying more attention to what I am eating, but is there anything you can recommend that I should try to eliminate from the start? Dairy? I don't consume much.

I'm just so nervous that he's going to end up sick with reflux like I had to deal with last time. I really don't want to have to go there again. Pediatric Gastroenenterologist, and medications, and all the puke and crying!! ughhhh

Re: Baby tummy troubles

  • My LO had what I believe was reflux but it was mild. Zantac once per day did the trick. And I had him sleep elevated (folded blanket when in co-sleeper, Rock and Play, or crib wedge). I held him for a while after nursing but he pretty much spit up all.the.time! He wore a bib everyday for the first 8 months of his life!
