Dilation/effacement status

Went to my 36 week appointment today and was shocked to find out I am 2cm dilated and 75% effaced. I have also lost my mucus plug. While I know this doesn't necessarily mean anything, it definitely leads both myself and my doc to think I am not going to go past my due date. I am one of the few women hoping to make it a few more weeks because I am in PA school and have two exams on 11/14. I am crossing my fingers I make it that long but now am pretty nervous my LO wants out sooner!

Just curious where the rest of you (who have not already delivered) are in this process.

When I had DS1 I was 2cm and 70% for 4 weeks and still got induced.

I was 2cm at my 36 week appt and 3cm at my 37 week appt with this pregnancy. Tomorrow I will be 38 weeks and still no baby.

All of this to say... don't stress you very well might make it until your exams.

36 weeks: 2-3 cm & 60% effaced, -2 station

37 weeks: 3-4 cm & 60% effaced, -2 station...

My MW told me that once he drops, he'll probably come pretty quickly. I'm so ready!

At my 38 week appointment I was 3 cm, 70%, and a 0 station.

My dr. has been telling me since 33 weeks he'd be surprised if I even made it to full term. Well here I am 2 days shy of 39 weeks and still very much pregnant.

Thanks ladies! I know it varies a ton with every pregnancy but it still makes me nervous. Now I am trying to convince myself I am having contractions.... Breathe....Your comments are helping reduce my stress levels.

At 35 weeks 6 days I was 1cm at 37 weeks 1cm 75% effaced ...still pregnant and 38 weeks 5 days

Good for you! I just graduated from PA school 1.5 years ago - I can't imagine being pregnant during it!!!! Last time I was at the office my cervix was neither dilated nor effaced, but soft. I was 37.5 weeks at that point. Majorly bummed! Good luck with the rest of your schooling! Its really worth it - I LOVE my job!!

As of last Tuesday I was 75% effaced and 2cm dilated. I will find out tomorrow if I have made any more progress.

I haven't been checked in just about 3 weeks....as of then, I was a big fat NOTHING!!!

At my appointment on Monday when I was 38 Weeks and 2 Days pregnant I was 1 cm and 75%. From what I've read it sounds like some people walk around for weeks and weeks at the same dilation/effacement...and some go from nothing to the whole shabang very quickly. Sounds like just our bodies know. The unknown is the worst but so worth it:)
