  I remember my pediatrician telling me that if it smells foul then it could be a sign of infection. Also if it is red or has puss coming from it. A yellowish discharge though is normal.

  Have you been swiping it with an alcohol dipped q-tip?
  Pedi said to do it at ever other diaper changing.
  Like pp said it could be infected.
