? about magnets - interest/ideas

We have an island in the kitchen that I would like to put a magnetic board on since our fridge is stainless = not magnetic.  But I'm worried that it will be ruined by it.  Do your children use magnets a lot and any recommendations on how to do this w/o ruining the wood?  Will she outgrow it and it not become useful?  I was thinking about wipeoff magnetic but then I worry about marker everywhere...thanks for your ideas.

Re: ? about magnets - interest/ideas

  • DS plays with his magnets on our fridge every day...he loves them and is just now starting to get the concept behind them (we have the leapfrog alphabet and the farm).  I'm sure there is a way that you could hang a panel on your island without harming the wood.  I'd think about making a panel that is magnetic chalkboard paint.  might get a smidge dusty, but if she gets chalk on something else, its no big deal for clean up.

  • I am glad you mentioned the chalk...I was thinking this but it seemed so old school...but you are right, cleanup is a breeze!
