Toddlers: 24 Months+

Bilibo?

I thought I'd come on this board perhaps I'd get someone who's bought this for their child, I'm considering buying each the boys a bilibo for Christmas and wondering IF you have purchased one does your toddler like/use it?

TIA :)

Re: Bilibo?

  • We used one as DD's basket part of her Easter basket last year - she was 2 1/2 then.  Initially she used it as a swimming pool for figurines and tunnel for cars.  Then she decided it was scary with its "eyes" and avoided it for a few months.  Now she has started playing in it - spinning, standing, climbing.  I love it, and she has used it some, but I can't say that it has been a favorite toy.

Thanks for your reply! :)  It's ok if it's not their favorite toy, I just was hoping it wouldn't be used for like a few days and then put away, KWIM? I know it's different for every child, thanks for your input.

  • Oh! I can add that it is the first thing she 2 footed jumped off of.  We couldn't get her to jump off a curb or bottom step, but playing with that, she learned to jump off things on her own.  That goes in the + column!  ;)
  • Not DDs favorite toy or anything, but she plays with it most of the time she just sits on it like a stool.

She got one for her second birthday. She tried to sit in it, fell over, and that was that. She occasionally carries a doll in it or turns it over and steps on it like a stool, but basically it's unused. I think I may put it up until she's 3 or 4.

We had a similar experience. Luckily, I paid $1 for it at a consignment sale so it's not a big deal if he doesn't play with it. I'll keep trying though.
