We are going through this right now. Usually I first try just soothing him back to sleep. Usually that works but he may wake up a few minutes later. If that happens I use the bulb and then have to soothe him. Last night I put him in his swing and left it off and he slept like a champ.
One night was so bad that I had to bring him in the bathroom and turn the hot water on. I used the Frida which works 10x better than any bulb. DS still didn't like it and cried but i got more out all at once. I would add a couple saline drops in first, though.
Only if it were really bad would I go into the bathroom. First I try to sooth, then I use saline. But did you all know you dn't have to necessarily suck their noses? Sometimes just the saline is enough....

My Blog: Naturally Mindful
Coming in late on this but I use the saline drops/nosefrieda routine before bed.
Then I put the humidifier in his room for about 3 hours after.
So far so good...

And I keep the humidifier on HIGH!
