I know there's been a lot of debate on flu shots and whether to get them or not, but I'm just curious as to how many of us actually have gotten/are getting them. I recently read that it is estimated that more than 25% of women who are pregnant do not get the flu shot, and I am surprised, as based on the discussions I've seen on TB, I would think it would be more than that.[Poll]

Re: Speaking of CPs: Did you get a flu shot?
My husband had H1N1 the first year it was a big thing, right before the vaccine became available. He recovered ok (despite coughing up blood intermittently) but then over a month later got pleurisy and ended up in hospital for 5 days. It was very scary (for all of us) and very painful for him. He was off work for 6 weeks.
Needless to say, we would like to avoid any of us, especially the newbie, getting it!

I work with under privilege youth age 16-24 and although I am not in the classroom, I am still exposed to them daily it was in my best interest to get a flu shot. I am not a sickly person but I wasn't taken chances. Glad I did. I have already had that dreaded Stomach virus, I dont want the flu too.

I just went with the flow honestly. I know I work in a gym, and that there are a lot of germs even though we clean the equipment all the dang time. My SD is in first grade so she is one big germ ball herself.
It seemed to make sence to at least try to prevent it. If I get it anyways so be it but at least I tried.
