Has anyone thought about their baby's initials, and thrown away some names because of it??
We love the name Noah Eliazer, and our last name starts with a W, so the initials will be NEW. I'm not totally in love with that idea. However, our other name is Jacob, and we really want to keep the middle name Eliazer, soooo...Jacob is definitely out for now (we are Jewish, but having the baby's initials be JEW would not be ideal!!).
Is NEW weird? What do you guys think?
Re: Baby's Initials
Our son's initials are GNP. Hehe. One of our possible names would give this kid the initials MVP... and that cracks me up.
Welcome to the world, Baby W: born on 3/8/12 @ 3:49pm - 8lb 11 oz, 22 in.
I think about it because eventhough it is more normal to just use the first and last initials it is possible that the middle will come up or become an issue. This being said because my dear mother didn't give me my fathers last name when I was first born so for a short 2 years my intials were FAT that is not the best especially if it had stuck and going through school not being the smallest that just would have fueled the fire. My intials after the change became FAP which means nothing so I was cool with it.
I tend to put all 3 when I intial things because we had this project in junior high were we had to create a brand (as in branding cattle; from the country so this was a valid assignment) and I used my initals connected to where you could tell them apart, but they were together lik HH where the middle line connects both H's.
My married last name gives me FAQ which I find funny, but all three initials kind of are important to both myself and DH which is why our DD (he changed his last name from Smith) did not get his mothers middle name making her original initials to be ASS like his mothers was before she got married.
Totally up to you but just know you are not alone in thinking of all 3.
I've thought about this a lot too because the name combination I like best has ARS intials.
Haha okay, I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking about this!
Thanks for your input, everyone!
Me (33). DH (37). DD (2.2012). MCs x4. After 4 years & 7 months, due 4.2018!
DS's initials will be GRL or QRL. DH thought he might get made fun of for GRL but I just rolled my eyes--how many kids are going to know his full name, then put the initials together? Not many. And a monogram would be GLR.
One of my girl options ended up with the initials FML which I decided we couldn't do to a child.
BFP #2 7/18/11 - EDD 3/29/12 - Born 3/13/12
BFP #1 4/4/11 - Natural M/C - 7w1d - 4/30/11
The coolest initial combo I've ever seen was a girl named Megan whose initials were MEG
That said, I wouldn't stress too much about it unless it's something horrid. My son's initials are BRR, and if this baby is a girl (we find out soon!) it'll be RMR. Or, who knows because we're clueless on boy names.
I was just thinking about my friend whose initials are KKK. It wasn't done intentionally, but just kind of happened that way. Like the PP mentioned, she just uses her first and last name initials.
My Baby's Size
Our current name contender would give our son the initials BSC. Now, not everyone is going to jump to understand it but some will. I haven't decided it's a deal killer yet.

I don't think it's weird to have NEW as the initials.
I didn't give the initials much thought. The only thing I thought of after we picked out boy name is aww we can call him AJ (Austin James)
If this baby is a boy, his initials will be I.S.H. (Either Isaac or Isaiah.) We're just going wtih it. Kids are going to find reasons to pick no matter what, and we really love both of those names.
I think you're fine with Noah. Is Eliazer a family name?
My DDs initials are OAF and her cousins call her that sometimes but I love her name so I don't care! Her name is Ophelia Amelie.
I would probably avoid JEW I guess although really folks aren't going to right her full initials for much.
My initials were MJS and now they are MJM. My MIL is also MJM.
Our daughter will be GEM. G is GSM.
