Well, here's and interesting but odd situation to be in the middle of...

I have a girl friend that is a fellow army wife where we are stationed. She is 12 weeks pregnant now and (here it comes) she smoke marijuana every day! She says it doesn't do anything to the baby and blah blah blah. She even offered me some! (i wish my wide eyed smiley worked)

I just don't know what to think. She has a DD that just turned 1 and she said she did it the whole time she was pregnant except for right at the end.

So WWYD or most of all WWYT? Let's hear it ladies.

Ummm...isn't there something against this in the military? Pregnancy aside (which IMO is beyond unacceptable), I have a lot of friends in the military who can't even be caught associating with drug activity let alone be married to someone who openly smokes every day.....WHILE PREGNANT!

well a couple of years ago DH's sister was pregnant and smoked cigs and marijuana throught the pregnany and drank. Even now their house reaks of pot smoke. There was that and many other issues that led to me calling social services. It didn't help though because despite obvious signs DH's family sticks their heads in the sand and pretends like everythings right. sure...drug additcted criminals make GREAT parents!!

Extremely careless and selfish. I'd be borderline on calling CPS, especially since she already has a 1 year old child that is exposed to it and can not speak/act for herself.

JUDGE JUDGE JUDGE. She has no clue if the weed effects the fetus because there have been no definitive studies on whether it does or not. Plus, I'm extra judgy of pot smoking especially if you have a kid. It comes from having a pot head mom.

I'm sorry, but that's ridiculous.

Friend or not, I would tell her she's a sh!tty mother. It's a drug... and depending on where she's getting it it could be laced with other drugs. I don't think I could be friends or even acquaintances with someone like that.

Seriously... these mothers that can't give up sh!t like weed and tanning beds for the good of their child piss me off.

Agreed to all the above comments - There is no way this person would even be able to be my "friend" or anything close to it...I would tell her like it is.

There are millions of amazing people in the world that would give anything to have a h&h child and you who has been given that gift (twice !!) is taking it for granted by using the drugs and really it just makes me sick. I know ppl like that exist in the world - but I like to pretend they don't. Sad

Along the lines of sh*%y parenting - my DH's good friend has a baby mama - his daughter is 5 but this girl has 2 more children but a different father, and another one on the way (once again diff. father 3 dads altogether). She rolled her vehicle last week - going to fast and NONE - NONE of the kids were in their carseats. The kids are 5, 3, and 2. REALLY once again complete idiot!

(thankfully all the kids and her were ok)

Wow, she is judged for sure! It's one thing if she can't make healthy decisions for herself but if she is incapable of making healthy decisions for her children then she has no right raising them. People like this disgust me; if you can't give up your meaningless vices to raise children then you aren't responsible enough to be a parent! I would say something or report it. Don't think about what it does to her, think about how important it is for her children. Good luck

Called today and they are handling it as we speak! It was the right thing to do and since I've lost a child I couldn't watch two other healthy children be put in the middle of that.

Sounds like someone needs a reality check. When you are pregnant you are sharing your body with another human being. It's in their best interest that you make every possible effort to help them develop probably by taking care of your body. That does not include recrational drug use.
