First baby purchase--bought my double stroller!

I can't believe I already ordered a double stroller after just starting to look yesterday.  lol  I'm such an impulse buyer sometimes.

I ordered the Baby Jogger City Select.

Last night I spend a few hours researching choices and reading reviews online and today I took my mom with me to the store for some test drives.  I LOVED the City Select, and since Albee Baby has one of the colors on closeout right now, I just couldn't pass it up.  Luckily I was able to talk DH into it.  :)

Yay!   I love shopping!

  • I've heard great reviews about the City Select as well.  Enjoy!

  • Can you take the rear seat off so a toddler can sit without being strapped into a chair?  I see there is a glider option but was curious if that option was available.

  • Oh, I'm so jealous!  I love the Baby Jogger, but it's just too expensive for me.  We'll probably get a Baby Trend double with the Sit n Stand option.  (Although I think it will be a little while before DS is ready for the standing option!)

No, I don't think so. Luckily I'll be primarily using it for daily walks in the neighborhood, so even though that would have been nice, it definitely wasn't a deal breaker for me.
  • What colour did you get? I think that's the one I have decided on! I just need to find a good deal!

I got the diamond color. I was worried it would look white, but the store we went to had a swatch and it looked like a nice grey. About the same lightness as the khaki color that the Britax B-Ready comes in (I looked at that stroller too). It's too hot here for black and DH didn't want red, so we were pretty much down to diamond and purple to begin with.
  • We also got this one, in black with the extra seat.  Found it new for $400 total a couple weeks ago & usually it's $670--couldn't pass that up!!  When I tried it in the store, I loved it.  Haven't opened the box yet, but hopefully it's awesome.

  • WOW! I don't know if I understand purchasing such expensive strollers, but if you'll be happy with it, awesome!

I'm looking at the Joovy Caboose, because it's a sit and stand version and it apparently has a universal carseat attachment  so I can use the Evenflo carseat we already have. It's about the same as the Baby trend we were looking at locally, so we'll see.

  • Awesome!  I love it.  That's our top choice now, but we still have to go test driving first.

If we were having a singleton there's  no way i would fork out that kinda money, but doubles start at like $250 & I wanted one for all uses & good for birth to when they're 3 or whatever & they stop using a stroller.   Plus getting it 40% off, so for us it made sense.

  • I understand it. I do, and if you have the budget for it and it will do what you want it to, I guess, go for it!

On Amazon there was a Graco Duoglider for like 150-200. That goes from birth (with the infant seats) to as long as you'd want to do it, and I'm happy with that sort of brand and what it does.

Great price! Where did you find it? I wasn't expecting to get such an expensive stroller, but once I tried them and we talked about how and how much I'd use it, the City Select made sense. I have a feeling we'll be able to sell it on CL when we're done with it too. I haven't been able to find any on there near us, so I'm guessing used ones get snatched up pretty quickly.
