  • YES! Still on zofran as well.  My nurse told me as long as I went twice a week that was enough. I am not sure how good of advice that is though because she also said not to ever drink more than 48oz of water...

I have been drinking lots of water and on the days I am able to get the most down I have the easiest time going. I drink over 64oz. I also take miralax as needed.

  • I am so glad I am not the only one!!  I also take miralax but not everyday and doesn't seem to work anymore.. Guess I need to start taking it everyday again..Just want it to go back to normal you know?!

  • Me!  Its so annoying and horrible... I take Colase every day...   I switched to a prenatal with less iron, and try and drink lots of water... doesn't really help.  It's so annoying!

I was having the same problems as you before, and posted this on the Jan 12 boards. I got so many helpful suggestions that I was pooping in no time Stick out tongue

Still taking the Zofran, so I'm still having constipation issues, plus this pregnancy just doesn't want me to poop, I swear. I take Miralax when I feel I need it, and take 1-2 Colace a day.

    Hope this helps!

  • I'm still taking Zofran about every other day (morning sickness is finally getting a little better).  The constipation has been terrible and I'm taking MOM about 2-3x a week, plus drinking lots of water.  Before MOM, the constipation was so bad I was almost in tears.
  • does the MOM kick in quickly or does it take awhile? I just dont want to be stuck somewhere and it kick in if you know what I mean?! haha... Does it really help? Does it make it easier to go? Or is it still hard?

  • Not sure if this will help you or not, but I have found that drinking coconut water has been very helpful for that  :)

  • Be careful about eating Fiber One bars. They contain Chicory Root extract. I was about to buy them at the grocery store, and a lady saw my bump and warned me about it.

  • If I get feeling that way I take some colace. Its gental and you can take one or a couple depending on what you need.

  • Colace didn't touch it at all...just made me really uncomfortable and horrible stomach cramps, so I stopped taking it... But thanks for the tip!

  • I'm still on zofran and find that an Activia a day an 2 "slow-mag" pills help me have a daily BM. Still no sensation that I have to go but I make myself go once a day. Not nearly as bad as I was a month ago with tryin for 2 hours. Much better now.

  • 4th pregnancy dealing w/ this-  two Colace's (Target brand and not the gel caps but the actual pills) before bed every night are the only thing that has ever "helped".  I've tried the actual Colace brand and other generics but they did nothing, Target's gel caps caused major cramping, but for some reason the regular red pills seem to at least get something going.  I've also used Miralax, but again- no help.  Even if you think things are easing up- don't stop w/ them... otherwise you have to start all over.  Good luck- aside from puking, this is my second least favorite part of being pregnant.

  • Where do you get these 2 "slow-mag" pills?!?!

  • Ask your pharmacist. They're hard to find. Tucked away with all of the vitimans.
