Pregnant after a Loss

How soon did you notice your symptoms settle down

I just started week seven and I'm noticing that my morning sickness seems to be settling a bit and I'm a little less exhausted. I dont know if this is just normal or if its heralding another loss. This is normally the time in which I have lost in the past and the longest pregnancy was ten weeks so I'm super on edge right now. The other pregnancies were very different from this one I feel healthier going into this one but I dont know what to expect. I guess in part I'm also really nervous because shortly we will have to make a big decision as to whether put our adoption on hold and trust that this will be our sticky baby or not.

Re: How soon did you notice your symptoms settle down

  • Honestly symptoms are very different for everyone. Some of us are SICK through the first trimester and some don't have any symptoms or have symptoms that come and go. I wouldn't try to determine how viable your pregnancy is based on that. I totally know where you're coming from- and when they start to get a bit easier it definitely makes you panic. My symptoms weren't that different this time around and I've had two losses. I'll be sending T&P that this is your take home baby!

  • MrsAtch said it best!  Symptoms or lack of symptoms don't determine how viable a pregnancy is.  I never had morning sickness but I know some ladies that experienced some relief from it only to have it strike back with a vengeance.
  • I was super nervous because my morning sickness started to go away around 10 weeks. I was so scared it was another loss. It wasn't and I am now 27 weeks along. I agree you shouldn't worry or feel a loss coming based on your symptoms. I know that it is easier said then done after suffering losses. :(. Hang in there!!

  • I'm trying to avoid the u/s I know it sounds so stupid but I cannot bear to hear the baby's heart beat and lose the pregnancy this is our 6th pregnancy I'm going to wait until after our longest loss date (10wks) I'm not spotting or anything just any change scares me.

  • In the first tri even if they seem to be settling down, they have a tendancy to come back with a vengance sometimes.  They are so up and down and it is totally normal.  Hope your ms comes back a little to give you some reassurrance.

But even if it doesn't remember that some women don't even have very many symptoms at all and they have healthy take home babies.

  • I remember that feeling so well. One day you're ill and wishing you didn't feel so crappy, next day you're not so ill and wishing you were. Strange to WANT to be sick, isn't it. I had a few times where my m/s eased off and even my breasts were less sore. It was a sickening feeling thinking another loss was coming. But it wasn't, and I'm now nearly 25w. It's just hard to be PGAL. Think as positively as you can. Wait a few days and see how you feel. Don't let one or two days scare you too much.
