Babies on the Brain

Another complaint about the "cold" in GA.

The trunk or treat we went to was scheduled to go until 10.  They were closing down when we got there at 7:45.  They said it was too cold.  According to  accuweather it was 47*.  Allie was bummed.  She was only able to ToT for 10 min.  A woman felt bad and gave her the whole bowl of candy.  We left and went for ice cream.

I am really afraid of what happens when it snows here.  I am from TN and it doesn't get too cold or much snow.  The reactions here are ridiculous.

  • I think you are right.  Dh and I were joking we may need to stock up on food and drinks that are nonparishables.  We may not be able to go to the store.  I would bet stores are going to be closed when it snows.  Allie was the only kid out.  The lady who gave us all the candy said she was the only one not bundled up.  She was glad she could see A's costume.  Allie was hot.

  • The stores will close. Everything will be closed/cancelled for at least 3 days. They will announce this as the first delicate flake hits the pavement, where it promptly melts.

    Not joking.

I thought TN was bad. I think we may need to do a stock pile then.  I hate doing that, but I much rather have food and water than starve.

Yes Last year I lived in Canton. If they even threaten snow, school will be closed for a week.

  • We ToT in NJ in any weather. This year, it looks like it will be a shiit ton of snow unless it all melts. If it's cold, we layer the kids under their costumes. If it's really freezing we don't stay out as long as we normally would but we sure as hell still go for a bit. I can't imagine something ending early because of 47 degree weather. That's crazy.

  • Wow!  We Trunk or Treated last night with snow still on the ground from Wednesday, and temps in the 20's.  It was coooold, but fun.  They had a bonfire going and everything.

  • Dh has family in Alabama. Everything shuts down at the first flake, stores are bare at the mere mention of snow. A stockpile is probably not a bad idea.

In a few short weeks 47 will probably sound like a heatwave to us.

  • Really? We had a good snow storm when I lived in Atlanta and I drove my butt to class that morning, in the snow (I grew up in TX so I am certainly not used to snow) with a snow man hood ornament I made. Nothing closed.
