Who else is in a winter wonderland?

I cannot believe how ridiculous this is!!! We have 8 inches of wet snow on the ground. Trees are down. Electric has been out since 2:30 but thankfully after Tropical Storm Lee did us in in Septemeber we bought a generator! We have TV, lights in the bedroom, heat & internet. :-)

***Ticker warning*****

This has been a crrrraaaazy day! I assumed that the threat of snow was minimal and we were gonna have a dust of snow at most. Wrong!! Driving was so treacherous, and trees were down everywhere.

When we got home, there was no electricity. Thankfully, a few hours later, we got it back, but tens of thousands of residents in the county and state are without power right now.

Nor'easter in October...who would've thought?!?!

No snow here! I live in Louisiana. It's I guess what Northerners would call cool. It's a bit chilly to me! It's 53 degrees right now, the low is 45... I have a friend that lives in Michigan and she always makes fun of what we call cold!! LOL!

Me me! I love it. My husband is cursing it - he can't stand winter. I told him to stop being a Grinch. LOL!

We have electricity so that is positive. I was already feeling super blue from the m/c so it's just another excuse to hunker down and heal this weekend.

I am totally shocked to be saying this, but in Syracuse we have.... NOTHING!!! I am just going to enjoy this for a little while because normally we are the ones getting blasted from Halloween to Easter.

We are getting snow, but not in crazy amounts. I read we are supposed to get 2-4 inches. It is too early in the year for this though.

We are slightly NW of Albany NY and we have about an inch of snow. They were predicting up to a foot for us so we went out and spent almost $200 to get all of our kids winter gear (snowpants, boots, etc) and for nothing. I don't really love snow but if we had to spend all of that money today I wanted the snow today.

We have some, but not a lot. It's not sticking to the roads or sidewalks... but I think we have a half an inch. It makes the trees look pretty. I can imagine if we had more there'd be a lot of down trees though.

We have over 6 inches of snow. This is ridiculous! There are trees down all over the place and we haven't had power since earlier today. We have a generator to run the fridge and tv. We're actually camping out on an air mattress in front of the fire because its freezing in our room!

We were stuck in all night. I think they said it was about 2-5 inches here in the suburbs outside Philly. DH and I were supposed to go to a friend's surprise 30th birthday party, but we ended up skipping out since they live kind of far away and we weren't sure how the roads would be. We stayed in and watched Scream 4 instead.

I'm a snow hater so I've been all scowly and grumpy all day.

Me! They predicted about 6 inches but we only got 2-3. It looks gorgeous out this morning because it is still the pretty looking snow without all the mud and yuck. Perfect Christmas day snow...too bad thats months away!

It happened to us in Buffalo on Oct 12, 2006. We were without power for a week. I had about $5,000 damage on my house due to a cloth awning collapsing. Even today, our trees still bear the damage from that storm.

We have about three inches here in Maine....at least on the coast. Other areas have over a foot. Thank god for the coastal effect. I hear Western Mass has over 24 inches~~~ GROSS! So not ready for winter...
