Trouble TTC

I hope you haven't all missed me too much ;-D

Hi Girls! It's been quite sometime since I've logged into the board... but I felt it very necessary to check-in with you all before my transfer on Monday. Our last cycle was our very first thaw cycle - we thawed all of the embryos we had - and not one of them made it - the cycle was cancelled... bummer, I know - I kinda went through a bit of a funk.. or some people call it a 'depression'.... it was a combination of everything we had gone through already - and it didn't help that people kept adding in "you're so young, you have time.." - sorry, but that pisses me off - my doctor says my woman parts think their 50... even though I'm 26... anywho - enough venting - so we decided to urg on and change our protocol a bit for our next fresh cycle... This round we did Lupron/Gonal-F/HCG(diluted) then ovidrel trigger... Our problem has been that I produce many, MANY eggs (last cycle had 30 taken!) but they all seem to not be good... not correct... This is the first cycle we did with the HCG - and we also kept my gonal F at a lower dosage - I had my ER this past Wednesday - there were 17 mature follicles removed... So, I was nervous after they were taken that they would all fail again - got the call on Thursday - 14 made it and were looking good - got the call today (Saturday) all 14 are still there and looking great! 7 are extremely good and 7 are average! I typically do a 3dt (which would be today) but this time they are having me do a 5dt (Monday) (because my eggs with the thawing seemed to grow, then fade by d5). So... I guess I am a bit nervous overall, but trying desperately to stay positive... So... I will continue my estrace and progesterone.. and pray everyday... and I guess I'm just hoping a few of you girls could keep me in your thoughts... I do not wish the infertile road on anyone.. not even my worst enemies.

PS: I have only transferred one embie at a time in the past (I have a partial bicornuate uterus), but due to  my many failed cycles - my doctor, husband, and I have decided to go with two on Monday...

  • Sorry to hear that the others didn't survive the thaw -- that must have been so difficult to hear after mentally gearing up for the FET.  Congrats on having 7 great embabies and 7 more that are looking pretty good...  best of luck with the transfer.

(PS -- if one more person says 'you're young, you still have time' to me, I just might kick them in the vag.  I'm a couple years older than you but hear it all. the. time...  and we're also a ticking time bomb but on the male side.)

Severe MFI. Me: supposedly all clear but eggs showed vacuoles.

IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.

Lucky IVF #2: Transferred two beautiful day three embies on St. Patrick's Day. BFP on HPT 7dp3dt. Beta 1 (14dpER)=106; Beta 2 (16dpER)=140; Beta 3 (19dpER)=264! First u/s 4.17.

I honestly have no idea who you are but I hope this works for you!

I also have a bicornuate uterus. Have your docs said much about it to you?

I had the whole MRI thing, and a few other tests so they could determine the bicornuate. If it was a septum they were going to remove it - but basically, with mine.. I have a partial septum - I should only have one baby at a time (though we've discussed in length about this and decided to try no more than two...) and I will definitely have to have a C-Section (and I prob. won't carry full term..but could probably carry to an acceptable baby size)... my honest opinion is we won't know until we try...

Ha - Sooo glad I wasn't the only one thinking of attacking someone if they said that... everyone is ready at their own time... just cuz I'm still on the 'younger' side DOES NOT mean I am not having the same trouble an older woman would... hang in there ;-)

PS -- thank GOD the hubby's end is great ... cuz mine is ridiculous ;-)

    **CORRECTION - I have a partial bicornuate - if I had a septum - they would've done surgery ;-)
