So I ended up talking with our class president about the upcoming reunion. It's been a FB invite and not all of the class has been invited.
I asked her "Do you have a class list? Is there anyone you haven't been able to find on fb? Maybe I can help hunt them down so they can be invited."
She responded "No class list. I figure if you're not on FB you won't care about a reunion anyways."
Is it just me or is that a completely douchey statement? Would you take it upon yourself to figure out who hasn't been invited or would you just say "I'm not the president, it's not my responsibility!"
Re: Wdyt? (10 yr class reunion)
I think that is completely douchey. I am of the mind that if you aren't sure whether or not to invite someone to something, you do it and let that person have the opportunity to say yes or no.
And really, as much as I love FB, it is not the end-all be-all of social norms.
I think that's beyond douchey. I have a lot of friends who aren't on FB for a variety of reasons.
If I knew of someone specifically who wasn't on the list, I would absolutely let them know. I'd also encourage people to complain to her, but I'm mean-spirited like that.

I made a list and started looking for people. Guess what I found? People on FB that weren't invited.
Its weird emailing and FB'ing people that I weren't friends with in HS, but whatever. I'd rather they roll their eyes at me and decline the invite.

People have 5 year reunions? That is odd.
She sounds like a b!tch. I would be inviting people if I could find them.
every class but ours has had a 5 year at my hs.. but it is a super small town and most everyone stays there.
Me either. I love when the as$nozzles try to friend me on FB. I get an unhealthy about of enjoyment out of declining them. (blocking some) Why would I want to be FB friends when you couldn't even give me the time of day in HS? I also have a good laugh when I stumble across some that are still acting and dressing like high schoolers.
God I feel old. My 10 year was 4 years ago this summer. It wasn't particularly well organized in terms of invites - I got details because I looked for them. I was glad I went but it was overpriced, bad food and a cash bar - which wasn't mentioned in any of the invites - and the only reason it turned out so well was that three of the people I'd lost touch with that I really hoped to see again were there. Otherwise, it would have been lame. People seemed to have a good time, but it was largely the people who still lived in the area and were all friends anyway. We left early and went to IHOP, just like the old days when IHOP was the only thing open after 10.
There was talk of another reunion in 5 years, but the website that was up then is gone now, and I am one of those people who doesn't do FB for personal reasons so I'll probably miss out if they do it.
