Yum! Favorite garnish, for me, is blue cheese stuffed olives. You would also want to include the standards: olives, celery, hot sauce, worsterchire sauce and celery salt.
I can't think of what you would rim the glass with. Bloody mary's are usually salty enough. Oh I have had them rimmed in ground black pepper before. That was pretty good!
I'm not a blood mary expert, but I want to say that I'm impressed that you are throwing a baby shower. You are amazing.

Congratulations to the fabulous KGS2003! Her sweet boys are here! Grow boys grow!!!
I used to be a bartender and I love Bloody Marys! Rim the glass with salt, garnishes I enjoy are celery, olives, pickle spears, black pepper and even a carrot can be placed at times. Tobasco or Franks red hot sauce is also a plus!
ETA: many T&Ps to you
T&P to you. Throwing a baby shower after a loss takes courage, strength and poise. You are wonder woman!!!
As for the Bloody Mary bar.
1. What an awesome idea!!! I am truly inspired and must find an excuse to do this.
2. Garnishes: Celery sticks (you can even leave the leaves (lol) on... it looks cool), pickle spears, olives, lime wedge
3. Rims: I bartended at a restaurant and we would rim the glass first in tabasco sauce then dip it in cajun spice. Super spicey, but people LOVED it and always asked what it was. Maybe have a dish with water or vodka (for anyone who doesn't want super spice) then a dish with cajun spice.
YUM!!!
ETA: Also, may I recommend Absolut Peppar for the drinks... soooo awesome!

I used to be a bartender too! I used all of the garnishes you had mentioned. I also added a dash of worshteshire (spelling?) sauce and a dash of light beer! Also, I would have some type of mixing tin (oversized silver cup) so people can dump thier drink in and then back into their glass- I'm picky like that when it comes to mixed drinks
ETA: T&Ps heading your way! I threw a baby shower about 4 months after my first loss. One thing that helped me get through it was that I was so busy hosting and such, that it went super fast whereas baby showers I just attend now, seem to drag on forever.
Thanks ladies!! I was thinking salt and maybe some cajun spice...I think I will leave some glasses plain, some salted and some cajun. I want to have the glasses already rimmed because I think if I let others do it then it will cause a mess.
And thanks for the encouragment! I will probably need A LOT more as next weekend gets closer.
Oh and the shower is the day before Addy would be 5 months her 5 month birthday is DH and I's 1 year anniversary...... hows that for a TERRIBLE anniversary present

I almost forgot! Worchestershire is the best ingredient :-)
Re: NTTCALR- anyone here drink bloody mary's?

My favorite bloody mary bar adds a cube of pepper-jack cheese. Delish!
Good luck and T's and P's for hosting the shower. ((hugs))
