4mo...how many oz?

For those of you who bottle feed...how many oz a day does your LO eat? I BF but my DD does get 1-2 bottles a day. Just in the past week or so, she has spit up majorly after eating (on Tuesday I went through 7 shirts!), whether it be from me or a bottle. I think she is just eating too much as she has a strong sucking need and continues to eat just to suck. I have been able to follow her cues when she BF but my H (who gives her bottles) has a hard time deciphering when she is done. He thinks that if there is still milk in the bottle she needs to finish it! Lord help her when she doesn't clean her plate when she is older

My boys will be 4 months on the 6th and they are eating about 5.5oz every 3-3.5 hours. They were spitting up alot too and the pedi switched them to Similac Sensitive for SpitUp and that combined with burping them 3 times during a feeding has seemed to help a great deal!

Meggers...if you go to kellymom.com, there is a section about how much milk to bottle feed when bf. It calculates it on how many times they eat. My 4 month old eats 3-4 oz at a time and i ebf...it's only when i go to work. And that 3-4 oz should last the full 3 hours...we hope! lol....her vomiting can also just be her adjusting to demanding more from you, so give her time to adjust to the larger volume if that makes sense.

he eats 5 bottles of 6oz and a 4oz at 1-2am he spits up like a volcano but has since birth

Now...I only give LO a bottle occasionally like 1-2 times a week. He'll take anywhere between 4--7.5 ounces...7.5 being the most he's ever taken and no spit up afterward...

I think it depends on the type of milk in the bottle...I try to get a good mix of the foremilk and hind/fatty milk in each bottle to make sure he's getting a good balance...
