Trying to Get Pregnant

Medical Supply Donations? (NTTGPR)

Mr. Bugg got his PICC line out today!! Now I am sorting through the oodles of supplies we have left from that. 3 boxes full.

I do not want to give these supplies back to the infusion company if we can donate them to someone in need. Maybe people with not so stellar insurance? I hope this makes sense.

Does anyone know of any organizations that accept unused, unopened IV supplies? I can ship them....

I have checked in my area and can't find anything. I am between Memphis and Nashville, TN.

Any leads would be great.

  • I don't know where to donate the supplies, but I wanted to thank you for thinking of others after your husband's time of need. It's a really sweet thing to do.

Well thank you. I worked in health care for a long time, and I have seen the burden that unexpected medical expenses can cause on a family. We are lucky to have such good insurance.

Kelly, that is awesome. I will look into that. We schedule his reversal surgery next week. The doctor told us today that he would like to do it by the end of November, which is amazing. With all of the samples we have gotten from Convatec and supplies we have ordered, we have about 70 colostomy bags, and a ton of colostomy supplies. Those supplies were costly, even with our insurance so I will really want to donate those.

  • I wanted to say this is very sweet for you to do. Thinking of others when your husband has been so sick is very caring. I am glad that he is doing better and thoughts and prayers that his reversal goes well.

I agree that checking into a local hospital or you can also check with his Dr's office. The Dr. may have a patient that comes in that may need the supplies and doesn't have money or great insurance. Those supplies are very expensive and I am sure there is someone who could use the help.

    Good luck!

  • I am lurking and saw this post. I too have a picc line right now and have given some things to the nurses that came out. They donated them to a lady who lost her coverage and is suffering from cancer. Also, one of them mentioned that the salvation army will take them and donate them to people in need. Hope that helps.
