I am not really on very much at all but I have a stroller comparison question. I am 20 weeks pregnant and I have an 8 month old. I currently have a baby jogger city mini and was looking at the baby jogger city select but came across the kolcraft contours the other day. There is a significant price difference and I also am not sure about the difference in sizes. Anyone have experience with either and can tell me pros and cons? here are the 2 that i'm looking at:
TIA!!
Re: kolcraft contours vs baby jogger
If you are used to Baby jogger, I would seriously look at that. I have 3 BJ strollers and love the city select. It helps me survive two kids so close in age. BJ is by far my fave company for strollers, and I have had several brands.
I dont know much about the contours, but have seen it in stores and next to mine its HUGE and long. the BJCS has the footprint of a single stroller, so even though its large and heavy, its smaller than the kolcraft. Check out babygizmo.com for video reviews on the BJCS not sure about the kolcraft one.
The contours is similar to the BJCS except it's longer, heavier and isn't as well constructed, but the price is nice! I'd say if you are an occasional stroller user the contours might work, but if you use it more than 3x per week, I'd really look into the BJCS... I have had both (the BJCS wasn't out when I bought my contours). HTH
Baby Jogger is way to go. I have it and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Mine are 15 months apart.
You don't save much money but anything is something, so register with Buy Buy Baby and get the completion coupon (10%) and that is the ONLY coupon for BabyJogger Stuff. I registered at the BBB in Albany actually but bought it at the one in Westchester.
They Stroller, 2nd seat, Chicco adaptor, 1 food tray and parent console was around $715 after coupon.
To me they aren't even in the same ballpark.
I agree with the PP that said you have to decide how much you are going to use it. I use my BJCS almost every day, so it was worth the money. The Kolcraft is huge and heavy and very long. The ONLY similarity is that it is a tandem double. In terms of ease of use, construction, push, etc. the BJCS is much much nicer. Personally, after watching my friend with her Kolcraft, I am sooooo happy I have the BJCS.
You get what you pay for most of the time. This is one of those times. If money is a serious issue, I would look for a used BJCS before I bought a new Kolcraft.
