Hi all,
Wanted to ask this here since I am more familiar with this board (mostly lurker though)...
My LO is 3 1/2 months old. She had a great sleeping streak a month ago or so when she would follow the eat-play-sleep pattern very well, sleeping for 1.5-2 hours and eating overs 2.5-3 hrs. For the last two weeks, though, she eats, plays, and then sleeps for 30-60 minutes before waking up. She wakes up fussy usually, and doesn't want to eat. I can usually rock her back to sleep but not always...when i can't, things go from bad to ugly. I should add she has always been an extremely fussy/gassy/colicky baby. She is doing well at nights though, eating at 8:30pmish, then waking once between 2-4 am, then again around 7:30am.
How do I get her to sleep longer? Or is she not tired? If she wasn't tired, I would think that she would not be fussing!
TIA!
Re: EBF 3 1/2 month old sleep patterns?
How many naps is she taking a day. I am not following everything you are saying, so please excuse this if my questions are stupid.
She is waking only once a night? That is excellent. It seems she is getting some extremely restorative sleep.
During the day, so long as she is getting more than 30 minutes of sleep in a nap, every 2-3 hours, then she is fine. Babies typically take 3 naps a day at that age.
Babies will typically wake for the day between 6-7am.
For me, DD has gone anywhere from nights where she wakes every 45 minutes- every 2 hours. I think it is a stage, as 3 other women who have a baby my age are going through the same thing.
