Acts of Kindness

Just when you think that people don't care, then something happens that surprises you. On a couple occasions strangers have been nice enough to help me out. 1) When at the mall on day, DH Iphone was messing up so he was in Apple store waiting, I took DD out of store because I needed to feed her two ladies gave up the bench they were sitting on so I could sit and feed DD. 2) At QT getting a coffee and was trying to put the lid on one handed, a man offered to help me put the lid on because he saw that I was having trouble. These are the most recent. Any other acts of kindness out there?

  • We only have one car so LO and I are bus bound more often than not and I still find it really nice when people help me carry LO's stroller on the bus.

  • I work at a small university, and every day I am amazed by the courtesy that the students display towards faculty, staff and each other. They are always holding open doors, or rushing to open a door for you if you have your hands full. They help carry things and are just overall generally nice kids. With all the reality tv brats I see on TV, its just amazing that we have this community of young people who do care about other people.

  • At the Renaissance Festival, several of the booths are not handicap accessible. People would see me positioning DS's stroller so I could get it up the steps and rush over to help carry it up for me

  • Brooklyn and I went to Panera for lunch and it was packed.. I finally found a table in a tiny corner.. I was juggling the car seat and a plate of food when a guy from across the restaurant came over and helped me out.

  • I went to pick up DH's dry cleaning last week and was struggling with DD in the heavy car seat.  Clerk noticed and got the door for me and then carried the cleaning out to the car.  I was so relieved!

  • I actually haven't had much...I thought I would but I think maybe the times I go out are more old people or new moms too so they don't want/can help.

I am in a cooking club with some friends and didn't go to the first club after the baby was born because it was too overwhelming. They actually spent the club making me freezer dinners and dropped them off for us! We still are eating off of them. So incredibly nice!

The first time I went out by myself for a coffee a man held the door open for me and checked me out. It actually made my day because I actually felt hot again! Woot! That to me is an act of kindess...HAHAHAHAHA!

  • I bought a large pumpkin today with DD.  (I have been totally jealous of the super cute baby pictures with LO's inside pumpkins)  It was a small farm stand where I bought it.  I lugged LO in her carseat and the large pumpkin inside to pay.  When the female worker saw the pumpkin & baby she went out to find someone to carry the pumpkin for me.  Because it took her another minute or two she only charged me $9.99 for the pumpkin rather than the $15 it was marked... all because SHE was doing something nice for me!
