So my dad has decided I need a make-up date night since we missed the Bridge School concert last weekend while prepping for my Grandmother's funeral. He got us tickets to the Halloween party at the Aquarium which sounds fun and is a family thing so we'll take DS. We plan to get a hotel to spend the night. DS wanted to go to Dennis the Menace again so he'll get what he wants (though he doesn't know it yet). I'd like to put my feet in the sand for a bit.
Anything else new and fun we should do? It'll be our third weekend in a row in Monterey (the others were spent visiting my Gramma in the hospital there and at her funeral) but the first where we have some time to relax.
I'm trying not to be sad about it but it's not working. ![]()
So where should we eat?
Re: Last minute overnight in Monterey: what to do?
I don't have any suggestions on food, as we just stopped in local touristy places when we were hungry.
I was going to add that I would love to walk down the streets and window shop in Carmel. That looks like an awesome place.
I prefer the wharf over Cannery Row for the touristy stuff. We ate at Cafe Fina on the wharf and it was the best place we've ever eaten in Monterey. Enjoy your getaway and be sure to get your tootsies in the sand :-)
Sorry about your loss
I hope you're able to enjoy your trip as much as possible.
You can check out the Monarch butterflies in Pacific Grove. They are usually there in October. I hear it's fun but I haven't been yet.
