Belly bandit - yes or no?

I mostly lurk but am wondering - is anyone buying a Belly Bandit? Do you think it really helps or just speeds up the process? I can't decide but I am very tempted. However, it only has 3 stars which makes me wary.

  • I've been wondering the same thing, so I'll be interested to see what other say....

  • I wore it after my DD and swear by it - I'll be wearing it again this time around.

  • I wore it for a while, but probably not as long as I should have.  I didn't find it very comfortable to sit down in so I got irritated and stopped wearing it.  I can see how it would help though!

  • I've requested a medical grade version from my midwife after delivery. In my insurance it counts as "durable medical equipment" (as does a breast pump), so they'll pay for it. Might be worth looking into if your insurance covers it as well.

  • I don't know about that, but I got a core support from Academy a while back that I intend to use. It's made of neoprene and is kinda like a firm but flexible support. I used to use it when I was doing yoga for the ab support and to keep my back straight.

  • After so many months wearing elastic over my belly, I have no intention of wearing more fabric over my post partum belly. It claims to provide back support, which if it did, then perhaps I would consider it if it weren't for all the reviews saying how uncomfortable it is. In terms of getting back into shape, I've never seen a body wrap type product that actually worked so I'm pretty suspicious of this one. I'm going to rely on nursing, light exercise, and eating reasonably.

  • I hated it. I found it hard to get just right as far as tightness-- I think I bought the wrong size, but I went off their own chart/system. The velcro annoyed me, I really didn't like it.

  • I had one last time and plan on using it again. If you plan on getting one I would order 1 size up from what they recommend. It also rides up and doesn't cover your lower abs or hips. I plan on wearing it in conjunction with spanx this time around. I think that might make it more comfortable. I also bought a $16 corset/slimmer from target that seems like it might work just as well.

  • I used one something like this one in my many pregnancies. If I remember correctly it cost about $30 at the drugstore.

It was completely comfortable and a blessing for my belly as well as the back. It was somewhat a little unsatisfactory when I had to sit down for a while but by doing a little readjusting it seemed to do ok even then.
