Does anyone have this? Does your child use this? Is it just a way for technology to replace me reading with my kid? Are the accessories too expensive to make this worthwhile? I'm putting together DDs Christmas list and I didn't know if I should suggest this to the grandparents. DD loves books and I think she would enjoy this. However, I am not sold on the selection of books available - they seem to lean heavily on movie plots and not the classics and other well written stories which I generally provide.
Re: Tell me about Leap Frog Tag
We are getting this for Maggie for Christmas. I see it as another educational toy that would be great for car trips or when she is having quiet time while her sister naps. She really likes the books on the iPad and her Leapster that read to her and she loves showing me how she presses the words and it tells her what they are and she tries to sound them out. I think it is a helpful independent toy where she can try things out without me right there. As long I don;t hand it it to her at night instead of the regular bedtime reading we usually do I don't think it is technology replacing human interaction.
My niece really likes the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom book and there are other collections not movie related like the phonics sets, Green Eggs and Ham, Olivia, The Little Engine that could. I really think the maps and solar system maps are really cool too. Also I think the pen only holds a certain number of books (10) so I think you can have a good combo of movie type books plus a few classics and the maps.
