does anyone has the orbit baby g2 stroller???

I know this may sound wired, but I really do want to get the orbit g2 toddler stroller. Before LO was born we didn't buy any stroller we inherited it from my sister (Teutonia frame and for the future the toddler stroller top with the MaxiCosi infant car seat, so it is a travel system actually). I do like it, but we never got to buy LO a new one. Thus, I am think if I should get the orbit toddler stroller. I really do love this one and if I do not get this one it feels like it is going to stay forever inside in me, or is it really not worth it? I do actually use the stroller a lot (I do live in New York, so I do walk to go shopping, to the parks and so on). It does cost 750 usd and to spend this kind of money on this stroller which i am going to use maybe only for another 1.5 years. I seriously don't know if I should get it or not? I just can't make a decision, because of the love towards this stroller I am really bias, and I really would like to hear your opinion what would you do?

Re: does anyone has the orbit baby g2 stroller???

  • My  honest opinion is that you should get the stroller you want. Why buy a stroller you didn't really want, and regret it, and then on top of that wind up buying the Orbit after all?

I live in NY as well and I also like the Orbit - it is NICE - BUT my one trepidation about a heavy stroller is that you can't take it up and down stairs - forget about the subway, and unless you live in an elevator building, getting in and out with baby will be a little tricky.

I still drool over the Uppababy Vista, but I know it's just too heavy for my lifestyle - so I'm sticking to my City Mini - another stroller that I heartily reco for NYC!!

  • We were between the Orbit and the Bugaboo Cameleon for the longest time, I ended up with the Bugaboo and it's great for around town but to travel it's HORRIBLE. I don't know if you have a car, but the orbit is similar to the Bugaboo and doesn't fold too good, they go into 2 pieces. I have a small SUV and it literally takes up the whole trunk We actually just got the City Mini as a second stroller and it's SO much more practical than Bugaboo or Orbit. Do what you want, don't settle. But I was set on the Bugaboo and ended up having to get another. I am now about $1500 into strollers!

  • I mean if this stroller is going to be heavy and an every day struggle better I just don't get it and save myself some money!!! I am very petite anyway and DD is also heavy plus the stroller! I am not gonna be able to handle it. By the way, thanks a lot for the advice!!!!
  • Nes13, check out the City Mini. Youtube has some demos - the one handed fold is awesome. It reclines all the way as well, has a decent shopping basket, and a fantastic canopy with two sunroofs. I cannot say enough good things about this stroller.

    *waves from Manhattan*!

We have a snap 'n go now (so I can take the 2 pieces up/down stairs) but I have my fingers crossed for a City Mini for Christmas! I'm jealous, I want it now!

  • NYC, the snap n go was a lifesaver at the beginning. I idiotically got a heavy travel system, which I never used. I'm trying now to advise any pregnant ladies I know to just use the car seat as the stroller for the first 3 months.

Enjoy the City Mini! I wonder if Baby Jogger's coming out with more colors for 2012.
