Go-figure: Halloween costumes

Of course, Walter hates his Gnomeo costume. The beard is itchy. He now wants to be a snowman. He has a costume party to go to Saturday and tomorrow is his bday party so I have no time. Can I do it? Should I let him switch or say too bad you are gnomeo or nothing? DH says Gnomeo or nothing since we already bought all the stuff and made the costume but he's four and I'm not sure he understands that concept yet?

    My rule with M was once we bought the costume he couldn't change his mind.  He kept going between simba and batman.  If you didn't make that rule beforehand it might be hard one to set now, but would be a good rule to start.  Can he wear the costume without the beard?

    He'll understand once he realizes you're serious about not buying/making another costume.  Once he's having fun, he won't care. If the beard is uncomfy, he can take it off.  N's monkey costume has a head piece that I fully expect to end up in my purse.
