EDIT: I am just being paranoid.
It's got to be a positional thing. I mentioned my concern to my husband, and he gently reminded me that this is why we bought a doppler. (LOL, I hadn't touched it in weeks and forgot about it!)
I pulled out the doppler and, sure enough, LO's heartbeat is goin' strong (about 2x mine!) and easy to find. ![]()
Thanks for the advice and reassurance, ladies! I appreciate it very much.
You're wonderful!
--OP below--
At what point should we worry if the baby's not moving as much?
For a few weeks, up to this past Sunday or so, the LO would have little baby dance-parties in my belly, especially in the mornings, kicking and punching pretty hard -- it would take less than 5-10 minutes to get ten movements in, and they were hard enough to be seen on the outside and felt really easily. Later in the day, I'd still get plenty of kicks, too -- not quite the morning dance party, but definitely a ton of lighter and harder kicks spaced through the day.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling less movement, and the movement I have felt hasn't really had any of those harder kicks -- like, I've only had a couple over the past two days that would qualify as 'hard' at all, and none that could be seen from the outside.
I am still feeling movement, though, and relatively regularly -- it's just not as ... vigorous, I guess?
Anyway, should I worry because it's not as much movement as I had been feeling, or should I not worry because I'm still feeling movement at all?
Re: UPDATED: Decreased movement: All's well. :)
I wouldn't worry but if you are, call your doc. I alwasy try to eat a piece of candy or have an ice cold glass of water, put my feet up and wait for the show to start. That usually works for me when I have not felt her.
Somedays, I'm so busy I just don't take the time to feel her and I get myself worried but then I do the above and all is well.
I don't think I'd worry, at this stage baby is still making movements that mom can't feel.
But call your OB, or go to triage! My doctor and the triage staff really prefers for moms to come in if there is any reason anything feels "off" to them.
Thanks, ladies.
I appreciate the advice very much!!
I'll see how the morning goes, and call around noon if it's still pretty quiet in there, just for peace of mind.

Yeah, the LO's still moving -- but it's less in both quantity of kicks and 'quality' of kicks. :-/ Like, this morning, instead of super-dance-party and 10+ movements in 5-10min (about half of which would be hard enough to be seen/felt outside), there were, like, three fairly light kicks total, and then nothing after that for the next hour or so.

I just read an informational poster about kick counts at the OB office yesterday and it said that 10 movements per hour is norm. The American Pregnancy Association says it could be even as low as 10 counts in 2 hours! https://www.americanpregnancy.org/duringpregnancy/kickcounts.htm
I don't think you should worry. Probably baby is changing positions and results in you being able to feel less than you once did.
Yeah, I think you're right...
I talked to my DH about it, and he gently reminded me that this is why we bought a doppler, LOL. Baby's heartrate is roughly twice mine and easy to find; it must just be a positional thing!
I feel so much better.
Thank you.
I'll update the OP accordingly
