baby monitor post?

There was a post recently about baby monitors and I can't seem to find it.  Ours died last night so I need a new one asap!

    Rssn has a motorola one that I am jealous of.  Its a two way voice thing so she can talk to the baby and go, "shhhhh," and he goes back to sleep without her having to get out of bed.  I considered running ours over accidentally just so I could get one.

    Video or sound only? We have the sony babycall which is non-video and have been really happy with it for the few times that we've needed it.

    L L, I want that one.  The one that talks.  I think I would just talk to him randomly throughout the night in his sleep if I had it.  "Loges, say MAMA, MAMA, MAMA.  MAMA is pretty." 

    I called Summer and it turns out if I get a new battery for ours, I think it will work.

    what monitor do you currently have and what's it doing? we have a Summer one that has already stopped charging...  that sucker isn't even 6 months old! i haven't had a chance to call about it yet though.

    We have the Summer Slim & Secure Handheld Color Video Monitor.  I woke up this morning to it just completely dead...and I completely panicked because LO slept for an hour later than he normally does!  I think he woke at his normal time and I didn't hear him, so he went back to sleep.

    Turns out the battery is now bad but it WILL work if you plug it in without the battery, but it stinks because you have to have it plugged in wherever you are now!  

    I called and they said to order a new battery for it.  We have only really been using it for the last 6 months as well, because I used to sleep in the nursery with him.  Pieces of sh!t, if you ask me.  Stick out tongue

    thanks!!  I looked and on Amazon they have a newer model, which is why I don't think it's available anymore.  I think I figured out my problem, though.

    So where do you get a new battery? :-) it is a piece of ***. that thing was NOT cheap. it should not be going out yet. we don't even use ours that much. maybe 3-4 hours a day and i haven't used it in well over a month. it shouldn't be dead already!

    Call! I had this happen twice with our Summer monitor and both times they would send me a new one.

    the woman said that they sell them on their website... around $20.  Although we haven't been using it for a year, it was purchased over a year ago so the warranty has expired.  I can't find one their website where to buy a battery, though!!
