Vitamin D

At our last appointment, the pedi said that we should start giving vitamin D supplements.  I bought Bio D or something like that, something without the added sugars.  I'll admit I was good at giving it to him at first but not so much anymore.  I don't think he likes it.  I think it might make him gassy, do you think this is possible?  It could just be a coincidence, but the last few times I've given it to him he hasn't slept well.  We had two glorious nights of 7+ straight hours of sleep, then last night he barely slept at all.  As in, I doubt he even got 7 hours total.

Anyone else's LO have a reaction like this?  I know it's a long shot and probably just a coincidence with the sleeping.  But it's odd that he always seems difficult to put down and won't stay down when we give him this stuff.  I usually give it around 4 or 5, so after work.  Maybe I should try for earlier in the day.  I don't know, I'm grasping here...

Re: Vitamin D

  • I didn't notice it causing any problems, but I also gave it to her during the day. I kept it on the table next to the rocker where I fed her first thing every morning. I breast, Vitamin D, next breast. She didn't like it, but sneaking it in between boobs helped, and maybe taking it with her food helped it not cause problems?

    Good luck!

  • I put it on my boob so he gets it when he's eating.  I was just Googling and found this on Kellymom.  My co-worker has a baby a couple weeks older than DS and he said his DS was super fussy last night, too.  Maybe it's the weather.
