How much does your 6 month old weigh?

I took my DS to the DR. yesterday for his 6 month check-up and he only weighs 13 pounds and 12 ounces. I don't think he looks that small but the Dr. is stressing about how little he is. He was born at 7 pounds and came 3 weeks early.

What does your 6 month old weigh?

At his 6 month check up, DS was 18lb 10oz.

ETA- He was 7lb 5oz at birth

our doc wasnt concerned as she is and has been in the 10-25% since birth. so she is progressing at a regular rate.

Weighed her last night by setting on a bathroom scale and she was 15 lbs 6-8oz.

6 lb 7 oz at birth, 14 lb 10 oz at 6 months. I make peanut babies, DS was small too. Is she staying on her growth curve or is she falling in percentile? That's what my doc looks for. Has she started crawling or cruising? DD started crawling at 5.5 months and so didn't grow as much because she's burning extra calories.

My son was at 15 pounds, 14 ounces for his 6 month appointment on Tuesday. He was born at 9 pounds even.

At his 6 month appointment, he was 15 lbs, 4 oz.

At birth he was 5 lbs, 5 oz. (He was also 3 weeks early). He's now in the 16th %-ile, and my pediatrician said he's growing consistently.

my LO was 7lbs 5oz at birth (2 wks late!)

he was around 10th percentile forever, staying on his curve so no worries.

until at 4 mths he was only 10lbs 14oz, he fell to 0 percentile.

discovered I had very low milk supply. explained his constant crying/need to eat.

he was 18lbs 9 oz at his 6 month - 75th percentile, and my pedi said I was overfeeding him!

good luck!!! I wouldn't worry as long as your LO is happy, gaining on their curve and not losing weight.

Nate was 17lbs, 1oz at his check-up and I suspect he's about the same now. I figure we'll start getting finger-wagging falling down the charts lectures at his 9 month appointment, even though he started out under 7lbs at term. My baby's happy and healthy, and also tall (he's 28") and skinny like his father, so I won't be sweating it.

My dd was 7 lbs I think 10 oz at birth. At her six month she was almost 14 lbs. I'm bad at remembering the oz. Anyway her Dr. is not worried at all. She is breastfeed and breastfeed babies due tend to be smaller. My DH is tall and skinny and I was a very small baby. She also looks very healthy when you look at her.

What does your 6 month old weigh?

My baby was born at exactly 37 weeks 1 day...she weighed 7lbs 2oz at birth. At her 6 month appointment she was 19lbs. If your baby is content, I wouldn't worry about it too much. All babies are different & maybe yours is just a petite baby. Wink

He is tall though 27 inches (almost of the chart for his age) so he doesn't look as chunky as the numbers would have you believe.

I agree with others. If the baby is happy don't worry.

E is 14.55 pounds. Which seemed really little to me. Only 17th percentile. But the doctor wasn't too worried because she's been little consistently and she is growing with her curve. She was about 2 weeks early and weighed 6lbs 2oz at birth.

My (full term) DD was 13 lbs 9 oz at almost 6 1/2 months. My doctor does acknowledge that she is tiny (5th percentile), but she has consistently been small and that is important to recognize.

My Dr reminds me at every visit that as long as she is staying conistently in the 5th percentile and meeting all milestones then there is nothing to worry about. While it would be nice to see her move up to the 10-15 range, some babies are just small!!

I thought they were looking for LO to stay on their curve and to approximately double their weight by 6 months. It sounds like your LO is pretty much there, but I'm not the doctor..

My LO was born at 9 lbs 2 oz and was 18 lbs 9.5 oz at 6 months.

E was a week early, 6lbs13oz, she has been consistently in the 15-19 percentile. Her 6 month appointment isn't until next eek but I am pretty sure she isn't any more that 13 or so lbs. I do worry about her weight gain although she is very happy and content. Her doctor, however, has not been the slightest bit concerned.

6 lbs 10.6 oz at birth (born early at 34w1d)

21 lbs even at 6 month appointment (on his 1/2 birthday)

Measured 27 1/2 inches so he's a fairly proportional, if big, baby.

ETA: Primarily breastfed (some supplementing with formula at day care)

12 pounds, 3 ounces at 6 months. She wore newborn Diapers until she was 2 and a half months old.

DD2: 7 pounds 2 ounces at birth.

DD had her 6 mo appt two days ago and she is 12 lbs, 14 oz. She is in the 5th percentile. The Dr wasn't concerned. She looks happy and healthy so they're just going to keep an eye on it. She was 8 lbs, 3 oz at birth.

She weighed 15 lbs 1.5 oz at 6 months. She was 8 lbs 3.5 oz at birth and her weight growth has slowed down a lot recently (90th percentile to 75th to 50th and now 30th percentile at 7 months--she's still tall and with a bigger head though) and ped is not worried.

I'm a little worried but other than feeding her when she's hungry there isn't much to do!
