Carter's funeral was Monday and I felt physically AWFUL afterward. The next morning was worse, so we headed to the hospital and am so glad we did. I have a pulmonary embolism (several blood clots in my lungs) and have been in the hospital since Tuesday am. They think I will be fine.
Clots can happen during pregnancy and delivery. Your care providers will warn you of them, but please, please pay attention to your body.
Re: Please be careful
You've been on my mind all day--thank you for updating us and sharing your advice. I'm so sorry that you have to deal with health issues on top of your loss, and I hope you'll recover quickly.
I know its hard to check in here, but if you feel up to it, will you please let us know that you're ok?
BeccaMarie - I want you to know that I think about you daily... I'm so sorry that you're going through this right now. Thank you for the warning, and please take care of yourself.
BeccaMarie - I am so glad you came back on the board to update us. First of all, I'm still so sorry to hear what happened to you and your family. I have been thinking about you and your family daily and praying for all of you.
Thank you for the warning and I'm glad that YOU were able to be in touch with your doctors and the people necessary and didn't ignore the signs and symptoms.
Please continue to take care of yourself and if you are able, let us know how you are. We are all here for you.
DS born via unplanned C-section at 40w6d
BeccaMarie, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I could just give you a big hug right now for what you are going through with the loss of Carter, your health and your husband's illness. Pulmonary embolisms can be scary (my uncle died of one) and I am so glad that you were able to get care in time and that your prognosis is good.
Also, that you for the warning. If I end up with a c-section, clots were on my list of things to ask about given my family history, but I would not have thought to ask about them otherwise. I am making a note on my birth wish list right now to ask about what I can do to mitigate clots regardless of how I deliver.
Baby Turtle - November 2014
I have been pumping to donate the milk, but now that I have had this happen, I have to be on medicine for 6 months. The medicine is not compatible with donating, so I have to quit and I am pretty sad about it.
