1st Trimester

How big is the gap?

For all the moms who already have children....how many years are between?

I have a 13 year old and a 10 year old....and now I'm expecting a third.  They act pretty excited about a new brother or sister, but it will be interesting (to say the least) to see how they react when the baby is actually here.

Re: How big is the gap?

  • Mine will only be about 3 when the baby is born so I do not think I will be of much help. But I was around 12 years old when my cousin was born and loved helping my aunt out. Actually if she was born in the summer I was going to go and stay with them for a few weeks to help out but her due date was Nov so I couldn't.

  • My eldest brother is 34 I am 23 and my youngest brother will be 14 on the 27th.

My older brother loved me and spoiled me and I do the same for my baby brother. With an age gap that "large" you are able to see the baby as more than compitition. You can enjoy the cute moments and the mile stones instead of feeling like you have to do something to get mommys attention.

    They will do just fine.

  • I have a 10 yo daughter (she'll be 11 in January) and a 4 yo son.  Expecting #3 in June.

  • the gap will be almost two and 1/2 years.

  • Depending on the actual date that this baby is born my kids will be almost exactly 2.5 years apart
  • Mine will be 17 months apart.  Yikes!

  • mine will be 16 months apart!  Not exactly how we envisioned things- but I think it will work out great!  I think it's great to be close in age and also great to be spread out- they are just different.  Instead of being this baby's playmates your older children will be role models- both are fun, just in different ways!

  • This is my first baby, but we plan on waiting about 2.5-3 years before having another child.

  • Well, I don't have kids but my DH does. When I give birth SS will be 19 and SD will be 18. I don't know about SS since he doesn't live with us, but SD is NOT excited. In fact I have earned the most evil SM of the year when I got knocked up.
