Let's talk poop

Or the lack there of. Poor ds seems to be a little constipated. I noticed that he has been straining a lot and he doesn't produce much poop and when he does it is hard and a small amount. So what are you ladies doing to help your Los? Obviously I will consult his pedi if this problem persists. TIA

  • Our pedi said "P is for poop" - P foods (or juice) like pear, prunes and peaches can help.  Lately i've accidentally found gripe water to help? Not sure if it's a coincidence... worth a shot since it's just herbal water.

  • I give DD pureed prunes/pears or a little bit of diluted apple juice. Now that she eats yogurt pretty regularly, she poops once a day, so I haven't had to break out the prunes or apple juice in awhile.

  • When we first started solids DS got a little constipated. When it happened I backed off on solids for a day or so and he would go. Also, yogurt helps.

  • I mix a little apple prune juice in with her food if she is straining a lot.

  • For us nothing worked until I started feeding him pureed apricots. Now  I just include it with breakfast a few times a week and the problem went away. Hope that helps!
