I know your cycles and AF can be pretty wonky after a m/c...I was wondering if anyone would mind sharing what changes you experienced. My m/c was in June, and the first AF was typical, albeit a smidge longer than normal at 7 days. Also had my typical hard-core cramping on CD2. My last two AF's have been only 2-3 days though with barely any cramping. Very strange...
Anyone else experience some AF craziness post-m/c?
Re: Post-m/c AF wonkiness
Hi, I haven't introduced myself but I m/c about 3 yrs ago and again this week. My last m/c, I bled for a month. Lightly but it was a good month. My first AF after that was heavy for about 2 days and spotting for one day with terrible cramps for CD1 and 2. It continued like that for a few cycles. It eventually turned back to normal but I don't remember how long it took...

My cycles have been all out of whack since the D&C. Immediately after the D&C I had some light spotting for a few days but nothing too extreme. It then took about 4 1/2 weeks for AF to come for the first time. It was the the normal length for me but it was SO heavy and with terrible cramps and lower back pain. After the cycle was over I had some light spotting about 4 days later. Pre-pregnancy I had a 26 day cyle and was expecting my next AF according to my previous cycle length but I was 7 days 'late'. I took some pregnancy tests but I was pretty sure I wasn't prego. So, after 8 days I finally got AF and it was heavy and longer than normal. I've heard that it took a few cycles to get it back to normal but I am wondering if this is the new 'normal'. I think that it is all just a waiting game. I did call my OB to have a follow-up appointment just to be sure that everything is OK.
My doc said AF can take as long as 6 months to regulate or normalize...ive had some craziness with mine...and its been about 6 months
I'm so sorry for your losses, and welcome to the board. I really appreciate your input...This sounds like what I have experienced, but the cramping hasn't been as bad.
Thank you ladies so much for sharing! I'm anxious to see how the next cycle plays out. I did talk to the doctor yesterday and she says this is completely normal, so that is happy. I do think it's interesting how everyone's body behaves differently!
