I'm interested too. So far what I came up with is I'm going to have the diaper bag just be diapers, wipes and bottles and I'm going to start bringing a regular backpack with clothes and toys to bring with to daycare.

Okay this is going to sound crazy but when I had my second I bought a large size canvas bag from Lands End. And I had my girls names put on it. It is so big and isn't a diaper bag but is awesome for when we go out for a day at someone's house (think summer time). However, for my day to day diaper bag, I got and Eddie Bauer bag. It works for me for day to day with two kids. They were 19 months and newborn when I started using it, and I still use if for the two of them now. Here is the link...
I got the Skip Hop Duo and it will not fit everything I need by any means. However it is a very functional bag for travelling around, not too big, has stroller clips etc. It will hold one change of clothes, diapers and wipes for each kid and maybe a few small toys, paci and diaper cream and pad. Basically the bare essentials.
Then I am going to get a big plastic tote bag like the one below and fill it will all the extras like toys, more clothes, hats, bibs, coats, wet wipes, picnic blanket etc. and keep that in my trunk all the time. I met a SAHM at the park the other day who does this for her two boys. So she can has the big bag handy at the park or wherever she goes if there is an emergency, but she doesn't have to lug around the biggest diaper bag in the world into every store she goes into etc. and stuff doesnt float around and junk up her car either. Plus its plastic and easy to clean.
Hi. Lurker here. I just couldn't help but rave about my diaper bag. I'm due with number 3 December 17th and my oldest is not quite 3 1/2 so I required a large bag to fit diapers/clothes/snacks etc for everyone. I just got the Ju Ju Be Be Prepared and I LOVE it. Fits everything, keeps everything organized, it's fantastic. They have several styles, the Be Prepared is the largest, but I've heard good things about the BFF as well. Good luck!
DH and I just bought a Dad Gear Bookbag. It's so hard to chase DS around and carry a bag, so a book bag was our solution. I LOVE this bag! It has more than enough room for 2 babies worth or diapers (and I cloth diaper), wipes, toys, extra clothes, snacks, etc. I highly recommend it!!!
I wanted the black clam shell Jeep bag at walmart, but it was recommended to me to get the #1 Utility Tote with like 7 pockets on the outside by a few moms. So, we are got one and are going to give it a try....
