My kingdom for a pair of pants!

I have three pairs of maternity pants and one pair of jeans that still fit. Even with a Bella Band, most of my clothes just aren't working.

One pair of maternity pants = too big

One pair of maternity pants = ripped band and I am paranoid of ruining it

One pair of maternity pants = circulation cut off unless I roll down the band, which is just obnoxious while sitting

Pair of jeans from pre-baby = ratty and ugly

I just want pants, you guys. Pants. Please.

Re: My kingdom for a pair of pants!

  • This was me last month! I feel your pain! I'm one of those people who just can't stand the thought of spending all that money on a new wardrobe that I'm not going to use after my pregnancy... and may not even us for my next pregnancy... and don't have the time or energy to sell them. Thankfully I found some solutions. I found an extremely comfy pair of jeans I can wear to work at Old Navy and ordered a couple of work maternity pants that were on clearance there. I took a business trip to Minneapolis a couple weeks ago and hit the Mall of America hard. They had a Motherhood and I spent a good hour looking through their clearance section and found a lot of cute stuff... for cheap. Also I found a lot of cute cheap stuff in the Maternity clearance sections of department stores like Macy's.

  • Well, the waist of the big ones actually fits, but they are so baggy everywhere else!

I'm hoping that I get a job at Macy's (I just applied, yay!)...I can maybe get a discount!

  • OK. Maternity pants WITH the Bella Band AND tucking the top of the maternity pants in your bra. =) That's the amazing set up I did the other day to keep me comfy and the pants up. Sad, but true.
  • I would also check out Goodwill.  Maternity clothes are only worn for a short period of time, so you can usually find some decent things.  Good luck andI hope you get the job at Macy's.

  • LOL. I'm not laughing at you, but with you, as I sit in my maternity pants tugging and pulling and folding and straightening. It's so annoying. I have 1 pair of heavenly work pants from Motherhood and everything else is awful. I'm so uncomfortable I end up wearing jeans to work most days!

  • Last week my bella band was not holding up my pants over my belly. I had to make the SWITCH. I don't have a lot of money to spend on a wardrobe that won't last but 4 months. I went to stores like Ross, TJ Maxx and Marshall's (not sure if there are discount stores like that where you live?) and found work/jean pants for under 10 bucks a piece. I got one full panel jeans and the other a "real" waist with an expanding band. These have worked the best, because I'm not pulling at them every 10 seconds. Good Luck with your search.

I didn't even think of tjmaxx and marshalls.  I will def have to go and check those places out.

  • I found with my last pregnancy that Target has some comfy stuff, Ive been getting away so far with my one pair of dress pants and flowy skirts for work (with leggings under) and I can uncomfortably get away with my post last pregnancy jeans with a bella band and my maternity jeans from last time are still WAY too big :( Good luck finding comfy clothes, once you get bigger it gets easier!
  • Can I just say that I SERIOUSLY needed to read these posts today!;) I just bought my first pair of maternity jeans (Target), spent WAY more on them than I would any normal pair of pants only to get home and put them on and realize that after about 2 hours of wear, I get saggy crotch;/

I'm steadily breaking every hairband I own holding my regular pants up! I'm just thanking God that I at least now look pregnant;) There's no mistaking it. Now, if only my pants could cooperate:)
